At the Melaka International Halal Festival 2024, HaNa was presented as a practical business-matching tool built to help buyers find halal products more easily and help sellers become discoverable to the right demand. The showcase focused on how AI can support product sourcing, supplier visibility, and cross-border trade within the halal ecosystem.

During the event, HaNa demonstrated its ability to respond to live sourcing requests, such as finding halal-certified dim sum suppliers, and to guide users toward relevant sellers connected through the Halal Integrated Platform. It also showed how businesses could be discovered through more natural, need-based enquiries rather than relying only on exact product names.

A key part of the MIHF presentation was HaNa’s multilingual capability. The demo illustrated how a buyer could search in Japanese, while local vendors could receive the translated request in Malay and respond through HaNa without needing to speak the buyer’s language. This positioned HaNa as a tool not only for product discovery, but also for helping Malaysian vendors access wider international demand.

Event Highlights

  • AI-powered halal sourcing: HaNa handled live requests for halal-certified products and directed users toward relevant supplier options.
  • Business matching in action: The demo showed how HaNa can connect buyer needs with sellers listed on the Halal Integrated Platform.
  • Multilingual trade support: HaNa demonstrated how international buyers can enquire in their own language while local vendors receive translated requests in Malay.
  • Opportunity capture: When a direct match is unavailable, HaNa can register the enquiry as a business opportunity for relevant sellers to pursue.
  • Vendor visibility guidance: The session emphasized the importance of registering on HIP and adding detailed product descriptions so HaNa can understand and recommend businesses more effectively.
